Move. Breathe. Thrive.
At Thrive31, we teach Pilates as Joseph Pilates intended, grounded in Contrology, the original method that unites body, mind and breath through disciplined, purposeful movement.
Our classes follow the classical approach, using raised mats and authentic equipment to work with gravity and natural resistance. With focus on breath, control and precision, we help build deep strength, stability and body awareness.
Pilates in its purest form, rooted in tradition, designed to help you move, feel and live better.
“You are only as young as your spine is flexible.”
— Joseph Pilates

Frequently asked questions
-
Yes! Our classes are open to all levels. We’ll guide you with clear instructions and offer modifications to help you feel confident from the start.
-
We use a selection of classical Pilates equipment to support and enhance your mat practice, including raised Pilates mats. Each mat is fitted with footstraps to anchor the legs during key exercises, and handles at the top to assist with control, transitions, and stretching.
You’ll also work with traditional small apparatus such as the small barrel and magic circle, all used to deepen your connection to the classical sequence, challenge your core, and improve mobility.
-
Raised mats are supportive, elevated platforms designed to enhance alignment, precision, and comfort throughout the classical mat sequence. The added height allows for smoother transitions and better control.
Small barrels are used to support the natural curves of the spine and are especially helpful for improving posture, opening the chest, and building mobility through the back and hips.
-
Classical Pilates follows Joseph Pilates’ original sequence using traditional equipment. Contemporary styles often vary or blend other movement forms. We focus on the classical method for its structure and lasting results.
